Join me in an intimate discussion of my recent works made from fiber, using a variety of techniques such as weaving, macrame, sewing, and beading to create intricate pieces as small as 12x12 inches and as large as 7-feet-by-12-feet from discarded fabrics.
In sharing my creative process and fiber story, I want to explore the history of the textile industry in relation to colonization, labor, gender, and excess through my personal experience as a child who grew up in Vietnam during the post-war industrial revolution and economic boom.
RSVP to participate in the online discussion Monday October 25th 5:00-5:30pm ONLINE (the link will be sent out the day of the event to those on the RSVP list).
